UNIT 18: WHAT’S YOUR PHONE NUMBER?

Lesson 1: Part 1-2

I. Objectives

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to ask and answer questions about phone number.

II. Language focus

- Vocabulary: phone, present, number, Lily, Saly, John, Sam,…

- Sentence patterns: What’s ___’s phone mumber? – It’s ____.

III. Resources: Textbook, recordings, speaker, microphone, laptop.

1. Warm up:
- Introduce new lesson.
2. New lesson:
Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.

- Have ss look at the picture and identify the characters
- Introduce the dialogue: They are going to listen to Linda and Nam talking about their phone number.
- Play the recording for the ss.
- Elicit the new word & new sentence from ss(phone, present, number)
- Play the recording and ask Ss to repeat each line of the text.
- Divide the class into two groups to play roles.
- Call some pairs to read aloud.
- Ask some questions to check ss’comprehension.
Activity 2: Point and say.
- Have ss look at the picture and identify the names.
- Present some new names: Lily, Saly, John, Sam
- Present new structure.
What’s ___’s phone mumber? – It’s ____.
- Call ss to read
- Say: “ You are going to practice answering the question “What’s ___’s phone mumber? ”
- Have Ss work in pairs to practice.
- Do picture a as a model.
- Call some pairs to read in front of the class.
3. Home – link.
- Practice asking and answering question about the phone number.
