WORD FORMATION
I. Noun – Danh từ:WORD FORMATION
- Đứng đầu câu làm chủ ngữ: People speak English all over the world.
- Đứng sau động từ “to be/giới từ/động từ thường/tính từ/mạo từ (a/an/the/các từ hoặc cụm từ chỉ số lượng)”
They are students.
Children are taught by teachers.
I gave my brother a new ball.
Một số đuôi của danh từ thường gặp: -tion/ation, – ment, er, -or, -ant, -ing, -age, -ship, -ism, -ity, -ness, - ian
II. Adjective – Tính từ
- Đứng trước danh từ để bổ nghĩa cho danh từ đó.
She is a nice girl. (Đó là 1 cô gái tốt)
This is a deep river. (Đây là 1 con sông sâu)
- Đứng sau động từ “to be” hoặc 1 số động từ liên kết khác để miêu tả trạng thái, tính chất của chủ ngữ.
She is beautiful
- Sau so/too và trước enough
She’s so intelligent that she can solve all problems.
Một số đuôi của tính từ thường gặp: -ful, -less, -ly, al/ial, -ble, -ive, -ous, -ish, -y, -like, -ic, -ed,-ing
*Note: Các động từ liên kết:
1. Nhóm động từ chỉ quan điểm: seem, appear – có vẻ
This room seems prettier than that room.
2. Nhóm động từ chỉ cảm giác: look (có vẻ), feel (cảm thấy), taste (có vị), smell (có mùi), sound(nghe), find (cảm thấy)
You look happy! (Trông bạn thật vui vẻ.)
I feel sad. (Tôi thấy buồn.)
3. Nhóm động từ thay đổi trạng thái/tính chất: become, get, go, turn
They all became angry when you told them the truth. (Họ đều trở nên tức giận khi bạn nói với họ sự thật.)
III. Verb – Động từ
- Đứng sau chủ ngữ của câu để biểu thị hành động trong câu.
I decided to take part in the competition. (Tôi quyết định tham gia vào cuộc thi đó)
- Đứng sau các động từ/cụm từ khác/giới từ, thường ở dạng Ving/to V/P2.
She likes playing badminton.
They used to get to work late.
I am interested in reading books.
IV. Adverb – Trạng từ
- Đứng sau động từ thường: She drives carefully.
- Đứng đầu câu, ngăn cách với phần còn lại của câu bằng dấu “,”: Luckily, I found my car key.
- Sau so/too và trước enough:
He drives so carelessly that he has accidents almost every week.
